INTRODUCTION TO
CHARACTERS IN THE BOOK

As you read Clinger, you will find several references to minor but reoccurring characters. Because some of them are loosely based on Biblical references and some are simply imagined from my mind, I wanted to take a short time to introduce them to you. Clinger’s character and his existence will be presented to you as you begin the book. While the title of this book is “The Clinger”, and it follows the events that Clinger is involved in, there are other clingers. They all have the same design as our main character. The Clinger has the duty to find and probe and cling to any suitable host. It is through the clinger that the other beings of the horde find access.
Those of the horde are simply the one third of the angels who chose to follow Lucifer when he rebelled against God. The heavenly host is a term used to describe the two thirds of the angels that remained faithful to Almighty God during the time of Lucifer’s rebellion. The God-breathed is a term used to define man, the creation of God into whom God breathed the breath of life. The term used to define Christ Jesus is the Incarnate-The Word made flesh.
There are references to those beings called “the titled”. They are portrayed as some of the horde whose purpose is to be constantly and incessantly fluttering about and around to disrupt and bother those beings created by God-humans. They are called the titled because their personalities are tied to the human trait that they disturb: anger, hate, fear, distrust, rebellion. Their powers are limited to igniting the already existing emotions and human characteristics found in those they are constantly pestering.
Of the horde, (those who followed Satan), there are three main characters listed who have a place of prominence in this book. The first is called an Informer. This being is the messenger being of the horde. Its job is to carry the commands of the Prince, Lucifer, to those who follow him. The second is called an Inhibitor. This creature’s job is simply to inhibit the humans it has access to. The power of the Inhibitor is limited to the access given to it by its host. The most powerful of the three is an Inhabitor. This powerful character is the one who actually finds the means to possess a host, of course only through the hard work and diligence of a clinger.
It may take a few pages to get used to the terms used, but once you’re into the book they will become common and as you follow the story line they will become intriguing.
